A Glasgow cycling charity has put out an urgent call for unwanted bikes to sell on to Glaswegians who can't themselves afford a brand new one.
Bike for Good have opened one day a week for appointment-only bike sales, but the charity are running out of bikes to refurbish and sell with the appetite for cycling and demand for bicycles going through the roof since the beginning of lockdown.
Communications Lead Kimberley White says: "It is incredible the amount of people who now want to take up cycling, and this reason is why we exist as a charity.
"Please help us to meet demand and afford everyone a chance at owning an affordable mode of transport."
The charity collects unwanted bikes from around Glasgow, and refurbishes them to sell through their social enterprise with a three month mechanical warranty.
In doing so playing a crucial role in providing accessible transport to the people of Glasgow, where many can’t afford to spend money on a new bike.
Furthermore, the refurbishing process saves bikes going to landfill, having a positive impact on our environment.
The charity relies on the goodwill of the public to donate their pre-loved bikes, with bike donations are almost running out at their West and South Community Hubs.
Anyone with an unwanted bike can either drop it off to one of their safe zones outside the Hubs, or fill in a form online for collection HERE
