A car dealership is boasting about its new member of staff, who sits on bonnets and runs away at closing time.
Arnold Clarke's Warrington store gained an unusual employee, a white and brown cat called Socks, at the start of summer 2022. Since then he has become "part of the team" and comes to the dealership most days.
Raine Bridgwater, who works at the store as a Vehicle Progressor, said she thinks Socks knew the showroom was airconditioned and was looking for a place to chill out during 2022's heatwave.

Raine said: "We would always find him lying in the shade and being made a fuss of by all the customers. The customers love him. We have had so many people saying they want to take him home but we have to explain that he does have a home but just comes to the showroom for a day out."
Socks will usually arrive at "work" in the morning to greet staff and then his owner comes to pick him up when the store closes. During the day he often sunbathes on car bonnets and walks around the showroom.
31-year-old Raine said: "When it's due to go home Socks seems to run into the offices and hide as he knows his owner is at the reception ready to take him home. We always get customers wanting to take him home, saying 'is he the manager' and also if it’s our work cat.

"He loves to sunbathe on the bonnets of cars but when he needs attention he comes into the showroom and walks over to the offices as he knows he gets all the attention and belly rubs. He always loves the service office where he goes and hides to keep warm too."
Raine posted a video about Socks on social media platform, TikTok, and her post was viewed almost 80,000 times. Hundreds of people left comments on the video calling socks "Arnold Cat", and one person went as far as saying "I would drive miles and miles to buy a car here JUST because there’s a cat".
The official Arnold Clarke TikTok account also commented on the post and said: "Some serious CATitude right there..."
