The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced Saturday that Saudi Arabia was among the top donors to the agency in 2018.
The Kingdom donated more than $160 million this year, including projects in all of its five regions of operation, it declared in a statement posted on its website in Beirut.
It described Riyadh as an “important and consistent” partner.
UNRWA received a new $50 million donation from Saudi Arabia in support of Palestinian refugees in their places of residence.
The Kingdom had transferred this generous donation to the agency as part of the unprecedented support it received from its donors and partners worldwide, to overcome the worst financial crisis in its history.
