Unreleased George Michael music to appear in Paul Feig's Last Christmas film from

George Michael in 2011 ( PA )

Previously unreleased music by George Michael will feature on the upcoming rom-com Last Christmas, from director Paul Feig.

Scripted by Emma Thompson and comedian Bryony Kimmings, the festive film debuts next November and was inspired by the Wham! song of the same name.

Game of Thrones's Emilia Clarke and Crazy Rich Asians actor Henry Golding lead the film, which will reportedly be sound-tracked by Michael's classic songs.

According to the synopses, the film “follows Kate (Clarke), who harrumphs around London, making a bundle of bad decisions which includes her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop.

"Tom (Golding) seems too good to be true when he walks into her life and starts to see through so many of Kate’s barriers. As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two.”

Michael was reportedly involved in developing the movie before his death on 25 December, 2016. Writer Kimmings told Radio Times that Micheals wanted to bring “queer politics” into the movie, but added she does not "know how much of that remains".

Feig's last film, A Simple Favour, was a surprise box-office success, taking $86.2 million from a $20 million budget.
