Unrecognisable Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley compared to Ned Flanders after growing 70s moustache

Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley left This Morning's presenters and viewers alike stunned after growing a bushy 70s-style moustache.

The soap actor, who plays bad boy Cain Dingle, looked unrecognisable in his large wire-rimmed glasses and tache.

Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, he talked about his current gang storyline and the prospect of returning to work amid the coronavirus pandemic.

However, Phil couldn't let him go without mentioning his new look.

Pointing out that being in lockdown allowed him to "grow something that substantial", Phil asked: "Are you going for the Super Mario look?"

Jeff laughed and admitted: "My son says I look like Ned Flanders!"

However, he also revealed that growing the moustache was his way of "paying homage" to his dad, who died a few years ago.

Viewers took to Twitter to joke about Jeff's new look, with one tweeting: "Christ almighty when did Cain Dingle become Magnum PI Tom Selleck."

While another commented: "The 70’s called pal, they want their moustache back #ThisMorning."

A third remarked: "Cain from Emmerdale is out here looking like a 70s pornstar #ThisMorning."

"Loving the pseudo '70s porno 'tache, Cain #ThisMorning," another quipped.

*This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
