But, according to reports, This Morning's Phillip Schofield isn't nearly as genial when the cameras stop rolling.
Fellow ITV darling Amanda Holden has reportedly claimed lovie Phil "cost" her a plum presenting role on This Morning - branding her "hard to manage."
She was so incensed she raised her concerns with ITV chief Kevin Lygo, reports claim.
In a second blow another female star ran to bosses over Phillip’s “unreasonable actions” following an on-air clash.
The Sun on Sunday also allege Phillip rowed with a Dancing on Ice writer which led to them quitting.
A former exec told the paper: “For years, Phillip has been the king of daytime TV, and seen as a bit of a God, utterly untouchable.
“But a few people have had noses put out of joint. Amanda, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, plus other key talent, have been especially vocal.
“Things are increasingly toxic when the cameras stop rolling, and a few ITV people are secretly delighted that things are starting to emerge.”
Sources added there was "simmering tensions" between Holly and Phil after a Sunday Times magazine cover pitted the presenters against each other.
When asked if it's true they never argue, Holly replied in the April 7 Sunday Times magazine piece: “I probably wouldn’t believe it either.
“I’d just think, ‘There’s no way’. But we see each other when we’re away from work . . . so it’s more than just a working relationship. It’s a genuine friendship.”
The pair often holiday together with their families, Phil has been married to Stephanie Lowe for 25 years and Holly to Daniel Baldwin since 2007.
Amanda used her Heart FM show to have a dig at the This Morning presenter earlier this month.
She told her listeners that the three things she wouldn’t like to find in her home were: "Spiders, flies and Phillip Schofield."
Viewers complained about Phil's "belittling" of Amanda back in 2015 and he was told to be nicer to her onscreen.
An ITV spokesperson said: "Presenter line ups on This Morning change regularly and final decisions on these line ups are made by producers and not the presenters."
"Phillip Schofield is a much loved broadcaster and part of the ITV family. He is a consummate professional and held in high regard at ITV."
