If you’ve been scrolling through TikTok lately, you may have tripped over the latest podcasting drama that’s got everyone’s group chat buzzing: the implosion of the Unhinged podcast.
Yes, the podcast with the name that now feels a little too on the nose. Here’s the lowdown on the Emma Paige and Chloe Madison saga which is giving me war flashbacks to the 2020 Call Her Daddy split.
So, let’s break it down — no fluff, just the receipts, the shade, and the legal threats.
What was the Unhinged podcast?
Unhinged was the brainchild of Emma Paige and Chloe Madison. The podcast launched in 2023 and quickly became a go-to for listeners who wanted a mix of unfiltered stories, hot takes, and the kind of banter you’d expect from two besties with zero filter. The pair riffed on everything from dating fails to influencer culture, and their chemistry was a big part of the show’s appeal.
But by late 2024, fans noticed the uploads had stopped, the socials had gone quiet, and the hosts weren’t even liking each other’s posts. The writing was on the wall, but no one knew just how messy it would get.

The Unhinged fallout begins
The split didn’t just happen overnight. According to Emma, things started unravelling at the end of December 2024. She said, “On December 31st I sent my co-host a text letting her know that I was done and that I wanted to begin the dissolution process.”
She added, “It needs to be very clear that without the two of us Unhinged would not exist.”
She claims she tried to handle things professionally, sending a detailed email on January 3 laying out her reasons for leaving and a proposal for how to dissolve the podcast. But after that, communication broke down fast.

Emma says she was “ghosted” by Chloe for 25 days, which led her to change some of the passwords. “The legal advice I received was to change one to two passwords while offering to share the passwords directly to my co-host in efforts to initiate a conversation, to get her attention, and hopefully try to just get a response,” Emma explained on her Too Much podcast, which she launched in mid-January 2025.
She also said, “What I stated was that I would happily give her the new passwords if she would give me a phone call to ensure secure transfer of information. And while we’re on the call, we could discuss the future of Unhinged.”
But instead of a phone call, Emma claims Chloe went nuclear and changed every password, locking her out for good. “There was no offer of regaining access, and I have been locked out ever since. So as you can imagine, I was stunned. I was completely shocked,” Emma said.
Chloe’s side of the story
Chloe finally broke her silence on April 22, 2025, with an episode of her rebranded Unbothered podcast. She claimed she was actually the one locked out first, and that by the time things blew up, “we no longer had an ‘implied partnership’ at the time, as Paige claimed”.
Chloe argued, “We operated under separate LLCs with a clear intention to maintain distinct business entities.”
She also said, “There was no implied partnership. Mind you, she was collecting 50 percent of the revenue with no problem.”
Chloe also brought receipts, saying she was “creating and sharing eight out of 10 of the filler graphics” and that Emma was nowhere to be found when it came to brand comms.
She argued, “Even if there was an implied partnership — which again, I deny — her choice to stop doing 50 percent of the workload to work on a competing business behind her partner’s back would have materially breached it.”

The rebrand and legal drama
While Emma wanted to dissolve everything, Chloe had other plans. She kept posting on the old Unhinged accounts, rebranding them as Unbothered and continuing to grow the audience. Emma, meanwhile, launched Too Much, insisting her work on the new show didn’t overlap with Unhinged.
She told PEOPLE, “I have all the receipts of when I made all the accounts, when I recorded my first episode, everything. It just took me two weeks to do this. I just worked that hard. That’s who I am as a person. I was able to pull this together in two weeks.”
When Chloe finally reached out after weeks of silence, Emma says she was offered 15 per cent of the show’s revenue for three months as a buyout. “I have never been so insulted in my entire life,” Emma said, adding that everything had always been a “50-50 split” and that both women had joint ownership of the content.
Emma sent a cease and desist letter to Chloe on February 12, and the lawyers have been “going back and forth” for two months in an effort “to come to a settlement that would be fair for both of us”.
Where things stand now with the Unhinged girls
Now, both women are running solo podcasts, and the internet is divided. Emma insists, “The platforms Unbothered is operating on — they are my property. Unhinged and all of my intellectual property was deleted without my permission. What they are doing is wrong, in my opinion.”
Chloe, meanwhile, is adamant there was no partnership and that she did most of the work.
If you’re looking for a neat ending, you won’t find one here. The only thing that’s clear is that TikTok is feasting, and the legal drama is far from over. Stay tuned — because if there’s one thing these two know how to do, it’s keep the content (and the chaos) coming.
