Tadej Pogačar will start the 2026 Tour de France as the overwhelming favourite for the yellow jersey, which would be his third in a row.
However, it is not a done deal that the UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider will win the race for a fifth time, with there being a whole host of challengers, from Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) to Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) via Paul Seixas (Decathlon CMA CGM).
There are 23 teams with 184 riders at the race, so eight per squad. Lineups are typically announced in the 10 days before the start of the race on Saturday 4 July, with some being revealed with plenty of time, while other teams leave it to the last minute.
With National Championships happening across Europe this weekend, it is a final chance for riders to make the case for their inclusion, while there will be some riders sweating over fitness and health.
The first squad to be officially announced was Visma-Lease a Bike on Tuesday. Victor Campenaerts, Edoardo Affini, Per Strand Hagenes, Matteo Jorgenson, Sepp Kuss, Bruno Armirail and Davide Piganzoli will all support Vingegaard as he starts his bid for a third yellow jersey.
That was followed later on Tuesday by Uno-X Mobility, who are competing at the Tour for the first time as a WorldTour team rather than an invitee. They will be riding for Tobias Halland Johannessen, who finished sixth overall last year. Their team includes former stage winners Magnus Cort and Jonas Abrahamsen.
On Wednesday, NSN revealed their eight riders, which will be led by Biniam Girmay, hoping to win a stage at the race for the first time since 2024. There are two British riders in the team, in Lewis Askey and Jake Stewart.
Friday morning saw Jayco AlUla's team announced, with a collection of strong riders hunting for stages, including Ben O'Connor, Luke Plapp, Michael Matthews and Mauro Schmid.
That was followed by Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe, who will be co-led by Florian Lipowitz and Remco Evenpoel, joined by former Giro d'Italia winner Jai Hindley.
On Sunday afternoon, Bahrain Victorious announced their team, which will be led by Antonio Tiberi and Lenny Martinez. Tiberi is making his debut at the French Grand Tour, but finished fifth at the Giro d'Italia in 2024. Martinez, meanwhile, won a stage at Paris-Nice this year, and finished on the podiums of both the Volta a Catalunya and the Tour de Romandie.
On Monday, UAE Team Emirates-XRG revealed the seven men who will aim to deliver Tadej Pogačar to a fifth Tour victory. They include Isaac del Toro, who has won three WorldTour stage races in 2026.
They were followed by TotalEnergies, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, Tudor, XDS Astana, Cofidis and Intermarché-Lotto, who have swapped around their name for the Tour; all are packed with stage-hunting riders. Jordan Jegat, 10th last year, starts for TotalEnergies.
Paul Seixas was confirmed as Decathlon CMA CGM's team leader on Monday afternoon, alongside sprinter Olav Kooij. Later on Monday, Juan Ayuso was revealed as Lidl-Trek's leader, and he will lineup with Mads Pedersen and Mathias Skjelmose, among others.
EF Education-EasyPost will take Richard Carapaz, Ben Healy and Alex Baudin in a strong team which can compete across multiple terrains. Groupama-FDJ United sprung a surprise by not taking David Gaudu to the Tour for the second year in a row, after he had taken part in seven consecutive editions.
Mathieu van der Poel and Jasper Philipsen return to the Tour for Alpecin-Deceuninck, searching for more stage success across the three weeks.
On Tuesday morning, Movistar and Soudal Quick-Step announced their squads, the former being led by Cian Uijtdebroeks, the latter by Tim Merlier.
Netcompany-Ineos's eight-man lineup was revealed on Wednesday morning, including Thymen Arensman and Josh Tarling. Then later that day, Tom Pidcock's Pinarello Q36.5 squad was finally announced, including British champion Fred Wright.
The list of teams set to compete at the Tour is below, alphabetically. We will update this page as more rosters are announced in the coming days, with riders struck out as and when they abandon the race.
