Unlucky Parklife fans say festival has 'absolutely ruined their day' after tickets sell out in record time

Thousands of music fans have been left disappointed this morning after Parklife tickets sold out in record time.

A presale for the Heaton Park festival started at 10am but within 20 minutes, all weekend tickets had sold out.

The festival was completely sold out in 78 minutes, according to co-creator Sacha Lord, who said it 'highlights the need for people desperate to socialise for their mental health'.

Fans said they found themselves in a virtual queue of 40,000 within seconds of the presale beginning.

Organisers said yesterday that 250,000 people had registered for the presale, with more than 112,000 successfully bagging a ticket.

A general sale was meant to go ahead tomorrow morning to sell off any tickets remaining, but festival bosses have confirmed there'll be no more available.

They posted on Twitter: "Parklife 2021 has sold in record time, as such there will be no general sale tomorrow. We wanted to send our thanks, your support has been incredible. Roll on September."

Parklife co-creator Sacha Lord said he was left 'mind blown' by the unprecedented demand.

One person who did manage to get tickets said it was like ' witnessing a real life miracle '.

But thousands more have been left gutted by the speed at which tickets were snapped up.

One person tweeted : "Parklife selling out so quick has absolutely ruined my day"

Another said : "Parklife weekend tickets: £155 Accommodation: £80 Travel: £50 Being in the queue since 9:30 and they sold out in 1 min: Priceless"

Someone else posted : "Never know stress like it trying to get parklife tickets. Never again"

Another person said they sat in a queue of more than 40,000 people only to find that tickets had sold out.

People are already beginning to sell off spare tickets, but those who bought some specifically to profit off resales have been criticised.

Someone posted: "If you’ve bought parklife tickets just to sell for double the price I hope both sides of your pillow are warm tonight #Parklife2021"
