The nine award winners are a diverse bunch; ranging from a 26 year-old personal fitness coach from Scarborough to the former chief executive of the cdfa. The ventures range from a revolving loan-fund for community renewable projects to a designer of mental stimulation products for people with dementia. But we, at UnLtd, believe they all share similarly high potential and similar ambition to deliver significant social impact at scale.
This inspirational group of award winners were selected from over 200 applications and will now receive a share of £135,000 in funding and 12 months of intensive business support (including from pro-bono partners including Hogan Lovells, Ernst & Young, DLA Piper and Actis Private Equity). They also receive access to a broad range of networks to influential people that we feel can add value to their business.
At the welcome event, the nine social entrepreneurs also got the chance to meet with the wider UnLtd team, representatives from our pro-bono partners, social investors, angel networks, a wide range of individual mentors and UnLtd alumni.
