Unknown man with Liver Bird tattoo found unconscious is identified

Police have provided an update on the condition of an unknown man, with a Liver Bird tattoo, who was found in the street unconscious.

T here had been widespread concern for the injured man, after he was found by police in Blackpool Road, Preston, at about 10am on October 10.

The victim, aged approximately between 35 and 45, was rushed to hospital where initially he was described as being in a critical condition.

As he was cared for in hospital, police desperately appealed for the public to help identify him and described his appearance - noting he had a Liver Bird tattoo on his leg.

On Tuesday, a spokesman for Lancashire Police c onfirmed the man's condition has improved.

The spokesman said the man was identified the next day after appeals were posted for his loved ones.

He told the ECHO: "He was identified the following day.

"His condition improved and he was treated at hospital."

It is not clear at this stage if the man remains in hospital.

At the time of the incident, officers said the man's collapse was treated as unexplained.
