Unknown man with Liver Bird tattoo found unconscious by police

An unknown man with a Liver Bird tattoo on his leg was found unconscious today, and detectives are trying desperately to identify him.

The man, aged approximately between 35 and 45 years old, was found unresponsive in Preston at about 10am.

Lancashire Police were called to the rear of Lookers Volkswagen Garage, on Blackpool Road, after the man was found.

The man is currently fighting for life in a critical condition in hospital, and police have appealed to identify him and find his loved ones.

The force said: "The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital and is in a critical condition undergoing treatment. At this time the incident is being treated as unexplained."

He has been described as white, of medium build and with a black Liver Bird tattoo on his right leg.

Officers have also released images of and described the clothes he was wearing.

A statement read: "He was wearing grey Everlast tracksuit bottoms, a white and grey England football top, a grey and black Everlast hooded top, a black jacket with fur trim hood, white and blue stripped socks and blue and white Asics trainers with an orange sole.

"He was carrying a blue and black ‘No Fear’ rucksack."

Detective Inspector Paul Whitehead, of Preston Police, said: “We are urging anyone who recognises the man described to come forward immediately.

“Despite conducting a number of enquiries we do not know who he is.

“At this stage the incident is being treated as unexplained. If you saw anything unusual in the area around the time the man was found please come forward.
