University supporting students after body found in search for Olisa Odukwe

University bosses have urged students to make contact with their wellbeing services after a body was found in the search for Olisa Odukwe.

Olisa, 20, was last seen in the early hours of May 1 at his address in the Redland area of the city.

Police confirmed today (May 5) that a body has been found in the search for the missing Bristol University student.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Formal ID is yet to be carried out, but his family have been told.

“Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

“The death isn't being treated as suspicious.”

Following today's tragic news university bosses have urged friends of Olisa to make contact with their wellbeing services.

A university spokesperson said: "We know this news will be upsetting for many students.

"Support is available to all students and staff affected by this and we would encourage them to contact University wellbeing services for help, as well as seeking support directly from friends or family.

"Information about the support available can be found on the student wellbeing pages of our website."
