The University of Toronto has been placed on lockdown after reports of a suspicious man on campus armed with a rifle, and one man has been taken into custody.
Toronto police responded on Monday to security officials at the university who first reported a man with a rifle near the Trinity College building, which is currently under construction. As a result, buildings across campus have been placed on lockdown.
“Please do not enter these buildings,” the university said in a statement. “If you in are these buildings, please remain in place. Do not leave until an all-clear is called.”
Police told CBC that they are continuing to search buildings for another suspect.
