University of Law chooses Nottingham to set up latest campus

Legal education provider The University of Law (ULaw) has chosen Nottingham to open its ninth UK campus.

The centre at One Royal Standard Place is situated in the heart of the city, close to Nottingham Castle, which officials say will help it build connections in the area.

It is being headed up by campus Dean Andy Matthews who was previously managing partner in the East Midlands at Gateley Plc .

Following the official launch of the campus earlier this month, he said: "It’s exciting to see ULaw have a presence in the East Midlands.

"It was great to be joined by nearby law firms and businesses to celebrate the opening of our doors. I’m looking forward to guiding ULaw in what is set to be an exciting future in Nottingham."

ULaw will offer a range of courses through its Nottingham hub including the legal practice course, graduate diploma in law and MA law, with full time and part time options available.

The university's business school, launched in 2016, will also offer programmes for undergraduates and postgraduates at the campus from 2020.

Meanwhile, to celebrate its first year in the city, ULaw will launch the Nottingham Postgraduate Award, which is a £1,000 award applied against a chosen course fee. It will be available for all postgraduates starting in September.

Professor Andrea Nollent, Vice-Chancellor and CEO at The University of Law, commented: “We’re thrilled to open the doors to our ninth UK campus, in Nottingham.

"We’ve been working closely with local businesses and firms to develop relationships we believe are at the core of what we offer to our students.

"We’re also excited to see unique courses, covering topics outside of traditional law and business, launching at our new campus to help our students to prepare for real world legal and business careers."
