The 20-year-old, who was a first-year student at the university, was found dead in Armley at around 6pm on Tuesday, May 19 - hours after he was reported missing.

His body was found at Gotts Park Golf Club.

Professor Peter Slee, vice chancellor at Leeds Beckett University, said: “We are deeply saddened by Dewi’s’ tragic death and our hearts go out to his family and friends.

“Dewi was a first-year student in our School of Sport with a bright future ahead of him.

“Our Student Wellbeing Team and Chaplaincy are working to support students and staff who have been affected by his death.”

West Yorkshire Police say there were 'no suspicious circumstances' surrounding his death and his family have been informed.
