Equality Challenge Unit (ECU) works to further equality and diversity for staff and students in higher education across all four nations of the UK, and in colleges in Scotland.

We work closely with universities and colleges to improve the working and learning experiences of staff and students, providing a central source of expertise, research, advice and leadership. We support institutions in building a culture that doesn’t unfairly exclude, marginalise or disadvantage any staff member or student because of age, disability, gender identity, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity status, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
