Eligible claimants will automatically receive the money - meaning you won't need to make a separate claim for it.

If you have not received your payment and believe you should have, contact the Jobcentre Plus office or pension centre that deals with your payments.

What will I get?

You will receive a one-off payment of £10, which you do not have to pay tax on.

It will be sent directly into the bank account where you receive your other benefits.

If you’re part of a married couple, in a civil partnership or living together as if you are and you both get one of the qualifying benefits you’ll each get a Christmas bonus payment.

When will it be paid?

It will show up on your bank statement between now and December 24 as 'DWP XB'.

The bonus is tax free and will not affect any of your other benefits.
