United Kingdom's Eurovision Song Contest act could be confirmed this week

The United Kingdom's Eurovision Song Contest representative reveal has been teased for this week.

The Eurovision Instagram page shared a visual explaining which new entries are just around the corner. A mix of national selections coming to an end and already confirmed artists means the Liverpool event will receive a major talent update within the next few days.

Switzerland, Austria and Israel will reveal their songs whereas Portugal and Sweden will announce which performer they're sending to the contest. The Instagram caption teased further details, including a "surprise reveal" expected from the United Kingdom.

The caption said: "There are still 10 songs for #Eurovision to be revealed! Expect some surprise reveals from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece and the United Kingdom this week too."

The BBC and TaP Music, the global management and publishing company behind some of the world’s most successful pop artists, who is helping on the search for the UK's entry, have remained tight-lipped about who's got the job.

The current favourites stand as Rina Sawayama, Mimi Webb and Birdy, but fans have been left in the dark, settling for rumours and speculation.

The act will have the daunting job of following Sam Ryder who shot to global success after his impact in the Turin contest last year. The Space Man singer came second, winning the jury vote, and has gone on to become a household name with many citing him as the reason for the UK's Eurovision boom.
