United Airlines flight from Washington to Tel Aviv forced to divert to Dublin Airport due to medical emergency

A flight bound for Israel from the United States was forced to make an unscheduled stop in Dublin Airport after a passenger became unwell.

United Airlines flight EA72 left Washington late last night and was bound for Tel Aviv.

But the 15-hour flight was interrupted when it made the unplanned stop in Dublin at around 10am this morning.

The plane was grounded for almost two hours before it took off shortly before midday.

It is expected to touch down in Tel Aviv a little over an hour.

A United Airlines spokesman told Dublin Live: "United flight 72 (Washington Dulles-Tel Aviv) diverted to Dublin Airport today, due to a customer becoming unwell.

"Medical personnel met the aircraft on arrival. The aircraft has since departed Dublin today at 11:15 a.m. local time for Tel Aviv."
