Unique Edinburgh hidden gem pub in New Town looking for new landlord

An ideally situated pub in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town has had its lease advertised online.

The Starbar, which is located on Northumberland Place, has had the same owners for the last 20 years. Its black facade is in striking contrast to its surroundings and certainly speaks to the character of the iconic boozer.

Its leasehold is being advertised for offers over £40,000 and prospective leasers are able to enquire about the turnover and profits of the business in the recent past from the owners. There is still five years left on the current Heineken lease which is tied in for draught beer only.

The public house can host 85 customers and also comes with a smashing south facing garden that can hold as many as 30 punters. At the moment it is wet sales only but advertisers say that there is potential for a kitchen.

The bar has a warm, cosy and traditional pub feel, with a dart board visible on the wall. The interior is spacious and anyone wishing to take on the opportunity has ample opportunity to put their own spin on the business.
