Union Street crash: Man in hospital after being struck by car in Glasgow city centre

A man has been taken to hospital after he was struck by a car on Union Street, in Glasgow city centre last night.

Police and paramedics raced to the scene near Central Station at around 7.50pm on Wednesday (December 23).

As reported on Glasgow Live, the street was closed to traffic between Gordon Street and Argyle Street but has now reopened.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8pm on Wednesday, 23 December, 2020, police received a report of a pedestrian, a man, being knocked down by a car in Union Street. He was taken to hospital."

The extent of the man's injuries are not yet known.
