Union slams 'epic betrayal' by One Nation

POLITICS: CFMEU's Peter Jordan.

The Miners' Union has come out swinging against One Nation, saying candidate Dale McNamara will be "tainted" by the party's "betrayal" of coal miners.

The union attacked One Nation's crucial support for the Morrison government's industrial relations bill which it says "severely undermined the party's standing and will be front of mind when coal miners vote in the Upper Hunter by-election".

"Hunter Valley coal miners will not forget their epic betrayal at the hands of One Nation," CFMEU Northern Mining and NSW Energy District President Peter Jordan said.

"After years of pretending to be the best friend of exploited casual miners, One Nation Senators ... provided the crucial vote for stripping away their hard-won rights.

"Coal miners need political representatives who support their jobs."
