Union minister Smriti Irani seeks second term for BJP in Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA: Union minister Smriti Irani addressed the BJP's 'Tridev Sammelan' at Chambi ground in Shahpur assembly constituency of Kangra district on Friday. She said the slogan of 'Jai Shri Ram' should reach Amethi as the Congress government had denied the construction of Ram temple for years. She said some people were saying from the stage that 'Yuvraj', a sarcastic term BJP leaders use for Rahul Gandhi, was driven out of Amethi in such a manner that he took shelter in Kerala.

Claiming that the Gandhi family supported anti-national slogans, she said, "I have come to tell Tridev Sammelan that there is fire inside me even today. For 50 years, I have seen poor people die in Amethi... Congress leaders say that there is no custom in Himachal to repeat the government."

She said it was not even a custom in Himachal that an institute like AIIMS should be made, but BJP broke that custom and an AIIMS was functioning in Bilaspur. BJP created IITs and IIMs in Himachal. "Now we will break the customs in elections and then BJP will form the government," she said.
