Union minister Narayan Rane keeps away after BMC action, says notice ready for 4 at Matoshree

MUMBAI: Even as a BMC team landed up at Union minister Narayan Rane’s Juhu residence to inspect his bungalow to ascertain violations of rules and regulations, the minister warned of action against Matoshree (Thackerays’ residence in Bandra).

In a tweet addressing Shiv Sena MP from Sindhdurg Vinayak Raut he said, “Very soon there will be a fresh inquiry into the death of Sushant Singh and Disha Salian who was raped and then killed. Their deaths were not suicides but murder. ED notices are ready for four persons at Matoshree.” In a follow-up tweet he said, “Vinayak Raut once this happens where will you and your boss run?”

The BMC team landed up at Adish around the time civic offices close. They entered the premises and were there for around 15 minutes. They left as the owner was not there to take them around for inspection. Nether Rane nor his sons were there, sources said. BMC officials may return on Monday.

In Pune, state BJP president Chandrakant Patil said the political war of words had become a ‘chivda’ (a Maharashtrian dish, which is a mixture of items) and “it is now difficult to correct this.” He said the state needed to find a non-political person to whom all political parties will listen to who can call a stop to what is happening.

He said action against Rane was an “act of vengeance” as was the decision to send his son, BJP MLA Nitesh, to jail. On Rane’s tweet he said, “Every action has a reaction. Rane would know things and therefore he has tweeted.”

Attacking NCP chief Sharad Pawar without naming him, Patil said Sena MP Sanjay Raut should have restricted his press conference to allegations against him and his family. “Instead, he dragged the issue of 19 bungalows and Rashmi Thackeray. We all know who is directing this. The creator of Maha Vikas Aghadi is a clever politician and he has been playing this game for years, which Thackeray and Patole fail to understand. Raut is being used to uproot Matoshree and maybe he will be made chief minister,” he said.
