Union minister lashes out at Chhattisgarh govt in 'Jan-Jaatiya Adhikar' rally

RAIPUR: Union minister of state for rural development and steel of India Faggan Singh Kulaste accused Chhattisgarh government of exploiting the tribals who, according to the union minister, need to intensify their movement against this government for their rights.

The tribal leader stated this in the ‘Jan-jaatiya Adhikar’ rally organised by the BJP’s Jan-Jaati Morcha at Ambikapur, the divisional headquarters of tribal Surguja division. The tribal leader Kulaste alleged that the state government is conspiring to eradicate the tribal culture but promoting conversion in the state.

Kulaste said that the BJP's Raman Singh government had left no stone unturned in the development of the tribal class during its 15-year tenure

BJP national vice president and former chief minister Raman Singh said that the plan to give 35 kg of rice to 75 lakh families for one rupee per kg was made so that no tribal brothers and sisters sleep hungry. Roads, water and electricity in the tribal Surguja region along with Naxalism remains a major problem.

The tribal population of Surguja was misled in the 2018 assembly elections that T S Singhdeo, who represents Surguja, would be the chief minister and votes were taken, but later Singhdeo was given a shock by Bhupesh Baghel. Singhdeo is now pondering over not contesting the 2023 assembly elections and this was the impact of the shock given by Bhupesh Baghel, he said.

BJP state president Arun Sao, union minister of state Renuka Singh said that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has done justice to the 12 tribes of Chhattisgarh, who had been demanding reservation for them for 40 years, by including them in the list of tribals.

Tribal leader and former BJP state president Vishnudeo Sai, former Rajya Sabha MP Ramvichar Netam said that the tribal class has come to fight for their rights, but as long as there is Bhupesh government in Chhattisgarh, there will be no hearing of the poor tribal class.
