AYODHYA: Union home minister Amit Shah will be flying to Ayodhya on Friday, apparently to take stock of the ground situation before the assembly elections in UP.
He is visiting Ayodhya after over 8 years. Shah paid a visit to the temple town on July 6, 2013 as party general secretary and in-charge of UP, when the state was being governed by Samajwadi Party under Akhilesh Yadav.
Shah had visited the makeshift Ram temple at the then disputed site of Ramjanmabhoomi and Babri Masjid. He had aso held a meeting with the party cadre at Vishwa Hindu Parishad headquarters, Karsewakpuram in Ayodhya. On Friday, Shah will offer prayers at the Ramjanmabhoomi.
Shah’s helicopter will land at Ram Katha Park around 10.30am. He will visit Hanumangarhi temple and then offer prayers at Ramjanmabhoomi.
He will also call on the president of Ram Mandir Trust, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das at Maniram Chhavni, where Shah will also meet senior seers.
From Ayodhya’s Ram Katha Park, Shahwillfly to a public rally spot 5km away in Faizabadcity. His helicopter will land at Government Inter College ground where local BJP leaders are claiming that lakhs of people will gather at the meeting to hear him .
After addressing the public meeting at Faizabad, Shah will proceed to Sant Kabir Nagar to address another gathering there.
