BHUBANESWAR: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday unveiled a statue of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati at Gurujang village under Talcher block in Angul district.
The Hindu seer, who was killed on August 23, 2008 in Kandhamal district, belongs to Gurujang village.
Pradhan while unveiling the statue said the seer is his idol and he tries to imbibe his great qualities. “We should remember his contribution to the society and his soft corner towards the marginalized section of the society. The way he was teaching tribals in Kandhamal district, we will try to teach students of his village here,” he added.
