Uninsured Audi driver caught doing 112mph on the M62 - with a baby in the car... the seat wasn't even strapped in

An Audi driver was caught doing 112mph on the M62 with a baby in the car.

The motorist was stopped by traffic cops between junction 22, for Saddleworth, and junction 23, for Huddersfield, in the early hours of Friday (August 23).

Officers said there was a nine-month old baby in a rear facing seat child seat, placed in the front passenger seat.

The seat was not properly secured.

Police said the driver was not insured to drive the vehicle.

"There was also an infant in a rear facing baby seat which wasn't secured. To top it all, the driver wasn't insured to drive the vehicle.

"I sometimes really struggle to understand some people's thought processes."

He later added: "I wasn't able to tell if the passenger air bag had been deactivated.

"But either way, in the event of a high speed collision, both baby and seat would have been ejected from the vehicle."
