The award was presented to the Princess at Chitralada Palace on Monday and the news was released on Thursday by the United Nations Children's Fund.

“I am both happy and honoured to present the Unicef Award to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for her significant contributions and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of children in Thailand," said Unicef executive director Henrietta Fore.
