Unexpected package from the 'girls from Liverpool' arrives at home of Cardiff student

A student from Cardiff was left shocked when she received a mysterious package in the post signed by the 'girls from Liverpool'.

Tiegan Sassoon-Taylor had attended Parklife Festival in Heaton Park in Manchester on the weekend of September 11 to September 12 and returned home to discover an unexpected parcel was waiting for her.

Upon opening the delivery, which had been sat un-opened in her house for around a month, the 19-year-old discovered a lost purse accompanied by a note.

Enjoying her time at the iconic Parklife Festival, the Cardiff-born student discovered that shortly after watching AJ Tracey, her small purse had fallen out of her pocket.

Speaking to the Liverpool ECHO, Tiegan said: "I panicked a bit and looked everywhere for it but then I decided to cancel my cards."

But when Tiegan, who attends university in Manchester, went home to Cardiff a month after the festival an unexpected package was waiting for her. A note was also attached which was headed 'Love the girls from Liverpool' with two kisses and a heart.

Inside the letter, signed by 'Mollie, Mia, Macy and Mairin', it said how the girls had found Tiegan's purse and wanted to return it to her as soon as possible.

They added that they hoped Tiegan had 'the best time at Parklife'.

The full note read: "Hi Tiegan. Me and my friends found your purse last night on the floor just after AJ Tracey, we kept hold of it for you so we could return it straight to you. We didn't take anything out. Me and the girls hope you had the best time at Park Life! Hopefully this gets back to you safely and you haven't already cancelled your bank card.

"Lots of love Mollie, Mia, Macy and Mairin."

Tiegan said she was left in shock when she got her purse back and that the gesture was "so sweet."

The 19-year-old said: "It was so sweet what they did and it restored my faith in humans. I have been carrying my passport around with me as a form of ID and have been without it for a month. I thought it was long gone and thought I would never get that back.

"It was so sweet."

Tiegan's mum, Iona Shariff, posted about the kind gesture on a local Facebook page thanking the four Liverpool girls.

She said she was 'literally welling up' after Tiegan opened the package and that 'Liverpool girls rock'.

Iona said: "This brought a tear to my eye. We live in Cardiff, my daughter is at uni in Manchester, unfortunately she lost her purse at Parklife Festival but has just opened this! Does anyone know these girls so we can thank them… literally welling up! Liverpool Girls Rock!"

The post was flooded with comments on how 'lovely' the gesture was and praised the girls for their act of kindness.
