UNESCO World Heritage site lights up winter nights

Gassho-style thatched roof houses in the Suganuma district, registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site, are illuminated by 50 lights in the Gokayama area of Toyama Prefecture over the weekend. "What magical and wonderful scenery," said a 70-year-old first-time visitor from Aomori Prefecture.
