Undrafted rookie wide receiver Emanuel Hall held out of OTAs after sports hernia surgery

Rookie receiver Emanuel Hall hasn’t made much noise since rookie minicamp. It turns out, there’s a good reason for that.

Bears coach Matt Nagy told reporters that Hall recently had a ‘very similar procedure’ to what Trey Burton had, which has held both players out of OTAs.

Burton had sports hernia surgery, a procedure that was connected with missing the playoff game against the Eagles.

Hall, who was highly touted as a receiver coming out of Missouri, fell right into the lap of the Bears, who signed him as an undrafted free agent.

The Bears have a loaded receivers room with seven players that would complement any receivers room. Hall will have to battle for one of those coveted spots, but his speed makes him a viable offensive threat who has a shot to make the 53-man roster.

Nagy said that he believes Hall will be ready in time for training camp next month.
