An underwater police team was called to search a canal in Liverpool after a series of raids.
Officers from Merseyside Police and an expert underwater search team descended on Kirkdale on Friday, September 3.
Police on the ground carried out two warrants in Kirkdale as part of the Safer Streets project in the area – launched in July to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.

Alongside the warrants, the force’s Underwater Search Team has been searching the canal and have so far recovered ammunition.
A sign were officers were working asked people not to use boats in the area due to 'police diving in progress'.

Local Policing A/Inspector Sean Harrison said: “In July we pledged that we would listen to the concerns of local residents and today’s activity is just one example of us tackling some of those concerns.
“We know that drug dealing can blight a community and it’s important that we continue this two-way communication with the community so we know what the issues are and we can take action, as we have done today.

“By working together, we can make a real difference to the quality of life of local people, helping to rejuvenate their neighbourhood and build a healthier community.”
At this time no arrests have been made following the warrants.
As part of the Safer Streets project, Liverpool City Council have also been conducting street clean ups by removing graffiti and rubbish from the area.
