Undertaker Final Farewell: Everything That Happened During Ceremony At WWE Survivor Series 2020

The Undertaker’s Final Farewell featured a rather innocuous retirement for The Deadman in yet another major 2020 moment that was compromised by the elements—or lack thereof—of empty arena wrestling.

After a parade of WWE Hall of Famers, The Undertaker spoke briefly before performing his signature salute and riding off into the proverbial sunset. One would be hard-pressed to believe that this is the last we’ve seen of The Undertaker. If nothing else, he at least deserves a proper sendoff before a full crowd.

7:05 PM PST WWE aired a video package showing The Undertaker’s career highlights scored to Metallica’s “Now that we’re Dead.”

7:10 PM PST Chairman Vince McMahon gave public remarks about The Undertaker. Vince said Undertaker’s struck fear into the hearts of everyone in the ring yet at the same time entertained audiences in both the WWF and WWE. McMahon said “tonight marks the end of an era,” one that he proclaimed will “never be duplicated.” An emotional Vince McMahon said “tonight, we say goodbye.”

“The legacy of The Undertaker will live on eternally,” said McMahon. McMahon then introduced The Undertaker.

7:12 PM PST The Undertaker received an elaborate entrance with an altered version of his theme before his contemporary theme played. Undertaker slowly made his entrance toward the ring filled with WWE Hall of Famers. Undertaker was lifted above the ring on a platform. Undertaker acknowledged a piped-in “Undertaker” chant for at least a minute.

7:20 PM PST The Undertaker admits “my time has come to let The Undertaker Rest in Peace.” He was briefly interrupted by a “Thank You Taker” chant. A hologram of Paul Bearer was shown in the ring as Undertaker performed his signature salute.
