Are you a lover of classical music or intrigued to learn more about Stravinsky’s life? Join Classic FM host Tim Lihoreau for an exclusive look at the Russian composer’s life and works at this exclusive evening class.

During the evening you’ll go on a chronological journey of the artist’s career highs and lows - learning more about the creative genius who was the go-to rentaquote for the musical chattering classes - from his sudden bursting onto the scene between the wars to his death in 1971.

Some of the subjects covered…

  • Stravinsky’s upbringing in Oranienbaum, Russia
  • His time as Rimsky-Korsakov’s pupil in St Petersburg
  • His work for the Russian ballets and how he became a household name
  • His reputation as an enfant terrible
  • His family’s move to Switzerland during the war, and then France
  • How he became such an American icon
  • His legacy and how he is seen by the world in 2016
  • Q&A - an invaluable opportunity to ask Tim any questions you have about Stravinsky and classical music
