Kansas coach Bill Self, Villanova coach Jay Wright and Michigan coach John Beilein have reached the Final Four eight times combined.
Loyola coach Porter Moser? This is his debut.
Moser said he has been thinking about coaching advice from the late Rick Majerus, whose staff Moser served on at St. Louis. Majerus had coached Utah to the 1998 national championship game, coincidentally in San Antonio.
He also reached out to Jazz assistant Alex Jensen, who played for and worked under Majerus as an assistant alongside Moser.
"I wish Coach Majerus was around," Moser said. "I wish I could tap into that."
Moser doesn't expect his No. 11 seed Ramblers to feel out of place as the lowest seed remaining in the field. He doesn't expect them to get rattled or change their routine much.
"I want these guys to experience this as normal as possible," he said.
But Moser is open to advice.
"I definitely am in the school of thought _ it is my first time _ and if I can get any advice or anything, I'll take it all in," he said. "Then mix it with what we do."
His Final Four counterparts recalled their own firsts at this stage and offered some advice to the new guy.
