Underrated James Milner finds unlikely fans as Liverpool midfielder goes viral

James Milner was instrumental in Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Southampton on Friday, and fast-food outlet Burger King agree.

The veteran midfielder had initially been left out by manager Jurgen Klopp but came on at the hour mark as the Reds went in search of a winner.

Milner slotted in at right-back and added a cool head to proceedings along with fellow substitute Jordan Henderson.

Mohamed Salah scored a sensational 80th minute strike to put Klopp's side 2-1 up, while the Liverpool skipper added a third to ensure a vital win.

In a tweet a fan of the global food chain wrote: "Burger King is well underrated."

To which the American restaurant's UK Twitter account responded: "So is James Milner"

The tweet quickly caught the attention of many Liverpool fans and was a viral hit racking up 8,000 retweets and 32,000 likes.

The Reds host Porto in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at Anfield on Tuesday.

And the versatile professional may be called upon to make a return to left-back due to Andy Robertson's suspension.
