Underage motorcyclist, 15, seriously injured in late-night crash in Swansea

A teenager was taken to hospital with "serious" injuries after crash between a motorbike and a car in Swansea.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Penderry Road, Penlan, at around 10.30pm on Sunday, June 7.

Police confirmed the motorcyclist was 15 - two years under the legal age limit to ride a light motorcycle in the UK - and he was taken to Morriston Hospital with "serious" injuries.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police attended the scene, along with two ambulances, two ambulance rapid response cars and the fire service.

South Wales Police is appealing for any witnesses to come forward, especially anyone who may have dash cam footage.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "We were called to a road traffic collision between a motor bike and a car on Penderry Road at about 10.30pm yesterday (June 7).

"The rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital."
