Unconscious cyclist found with serious head injury in Castlemilk

A man is in serious condition in hospital after being found unconscious in Castlemilk in the early hours of this morning (Friday).

The 29-year-old was found beside a bike by a passer-by on Carmunnock Road, between Glenacre Terrace and Glenacre Street, around 2.40am.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and is currently in a serious condition, according to Police Scotland.

Sergeant Gary Bone said: “We are trying to establish how the man got his injuries.

"At the moment there is nothing to suggest criminality but it's important we establish the circumstances around this. Officers have conducted door-to-door inquiries as well as checking CCTV and we're now appealing to the public if they have any information about this incident."

The injured man is slim with black hair and a black beard. He was wearing a black G Star quilted jacket, black trackie bottoms, a white Hollister hoodie and Ralph Lauren Polo trainers.

The bike found next to him was a black Carrera Zelos with yellow markings, white handles and a white saddle.

Anyone with information should contact 101, using incident number 282 of 14 August 2019.
