Saints’ uncertain QB situation has Seahawks set as 4.5-point favorites

Anything might happen when the New Orleans Saints kick off against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at CenturyLink Field. Per the latest odds from BetMGM, the Seahawks are favored conservatively over the Saints by 4.5 points. The over/under is set at 44.5 points, implying a final total in the neighborhood of Seahawks 25, Saints 20.

This odd spread is fueled by an uncertain quarterback situation for New Orleans. The Saints don’t know (or won’t say) whether Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill will start at quarterback, with Drew Brees on the mend after successful surgery on his injured throwing hand. On top of that, it’s unclear whether Bridgewater or Hill is actually any good, much less when getting the start inside enemy territory against a disruptive home crowd that rivals New Orleans’ own Who Dat Nation.

Seattle is expecting to debut a new-look pass rush rotation with Jadeveon Clowney and Ezekiel Ansah bookending a defensive line anchored by Poona Ford, a rising star at nose tackle. That might trouble a Saints offensive line that struggled down the stretch a week ago against the Los Angeles Rams, with four of its five members flagged for holding penalties in the fourth quarter.
