Liverpool were victorious in the Champions League final over Tottenham and that is all the history books will say.
But Tottenham have at least won something with regard to last season's Champions League - the best game.
And that has been enough to send a number of Liverpool fans into meltdown.
Tottenham secured their place in last season's final, which turned out to be a bit of a damp squib between the two Premier League teams in the end, thanks to a remarkable comeback against Ajax in the semi-final.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg and 2-0 at half-time in the second leg, Spurs scored three times in the second half, or more pertinently Lucas Moura scored three times, with the third coming in the 96th minute, to go through on away goals.
That came just 24 hours after the Reds had performed their own Champions League miracle.
Trailing 3-0 from their first leg with Barcelona, Jurgen Klopp's men turned it around with a stunning 4-0 win at Anfield.
It was a truly remarkable campaign last season, but in a poll run by BT Sport, who have the rights to all Champions League games, it was Spurs' comeback that got the nod for the beat game in last season's competition.
And it has riled some Liverpool fans.
Our sister site the Liverpool Echo ran the story about the BT Sport poll and there was quite the response to it on Twitter when they posted the story.
Many, however, consoled themselves with the fact that the Reds won the prestigious trophy, and Spurs did not.
