'Unbelievable' - Cotswold Water Park slams people over littering

Rangers of a popular beauty spot have blasted camping for leaving "everything" behind - including a pitched tent.

Camping chairs, cooking equipment, food and unopened alcohol bottles were left behind at Costwold Water Park.

Gloucestershire Live reports rangers shared pictures of the mess, describing it as "unbelievable littering".

One ranger blasted the campers for a "lack of common sense" and said signs would have to be put up at the park near Cirencester, Gloucesterhire.

The rangers posted online: "A whole camp just left, tent, chairs, cooking equipment, and of course the obligatory disposable bbq!

“Shocking people can be so wasteful and inconsiderate.”

The ground was also left scorched following a fire, with those responsible even leaving behind a saw which had been used for cutting fire wood.

Another ranger who works at the park added: "Sadly we’re now in a position where we’ll have to cover our countryside sites in prohibition signs telling people what they can’t do, rather than pointing out things that they may enjoy.

"All common sense and respect has gone."

Many people took to Twitter to condemn the irresponsible campers.

One wrote: "Why would you do that? Such a waste of money, not to mention ruining the environment and creating an eyesore.

"I just don’t get the mindset of people like this."

Another added: "I can't understand how people can be so selfish"
