'Unbeaten this weekend' - Tottenham fans in agreement as Burnley clash called off due to snow

Tottenham's Premier League clash against Burnley has been called off due to adverse weather conditions.

Spurs were due to kick-off at Turf Moor at 2pm on Sunday afternoon but fears over the pitch began to grow because of heavy snow before the Lilywhites announced that that the game was postponed.

"We can confirm that today’s match against Burnley has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions," a club statement read.

The Clarets' pitch was covered in snow overnight and this morning, with the ground eventually deemed unplayable despite the best effort of the groundstaff to clear the grass before the pitch inspection eventually failed.

Both sets of teams had already named their starting lineups before the decision was made to call off the game.

Similar weather in Manchester meant that the Etihad pitch also had to undergo a late inspection, however, City were eventually given the all-clear for their match against West Ham United to go ahead as planned.

So far it is unclear when the match will be rescheduled considering Spurs play in each of the next five midweeks before January's two-week winter break.
