Unai Emery sends message to Arsenal supporters amid links to Tierney, Saliba, Zaha and Malcom

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery is remaining calm over the club's transfer plans.

The Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League last season and were also thumped 4-1 in the Europa League final by Chelsea.

As a result, there is no Champions League football at the Emirates Stadium for a third successive campaign and Emery's transfer budget is reportedly in the region of £45m before player sales.

Just the one new face has arrived in north London so far this summer. Gabriel Martinelli's move from Brazilian outfit Ituano was confirmed earlier in the month - and he's made a promising start to his Arsenal career.

But with under four weeks until the transfer window shuts there are some Arsenal fans who a growing concerned in regards to the club's activity.

However, Emery has reassured those fans that work is being done behind the scenes and highlighted the role of newly-appointed technical director Edu.

"The club is working. We are speaking every day with the club and Edu," Emery told reporters at his post-Colorado Rapids press conference. "I prefer to work with patience and calm and take the best decision.

"We have very good players, very young good players. We need someone to help us. The club is working on that.

"We prefer to take the best decision with patience. If we need to wait more time for this reason I prefer to do that."

Football.london reported at the beginning of the summer that Emery's priority this summer was to sign a left-back, central defender, a replacement for Aaron Ramsey and a wide forward.

Whilst the Spaniard hasn't yet got his wish, there's been plenty of links to several different players.

The Gunners have reportedly had two bids rejected from Celtic for left-back Kieran Tierney, although that deal is expected to go through before next month's deadline.

Meanwhile a deal for William Saliba - who would be loaned back to Saint-Etienne for the season - has been complicated by Tottenham Hotspur's interest and they'll have to negotiate further with Crystal Palace for Wilfried Zaha.

Barcelona winger Malcom has also been touted as a possible signing, although the Brazilian is said to be demanding £200,000-a-week in wages which will be a sticking point given the Gunners' financial situation.
