Calls from fans for the Spaniard to be replaced in the hot seat at the Emirates Stadium are increasing by the day.
The Gunners are in sixth place in the Premier League, eight points adrift of the Champions League places, after a 2-0 loss to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Reports in the week suggested that the game against the Foxes was crucial in deciding Emery's future at the club.
However, According to the Times, the Arsenal board are reluctant to sack the coach before a planned review of his position at the end of the season.
That review will come as Emery signed a two-year contract in the summer of 2018 with the option of a third year. As discussed in a fans' Q & A with football.london's James Benge at the end of last season, the option in the manager's contract is there, should the club wish to activate it.
It is Arsenal's usual club policy not to announce if an option has been activated in a contract, meaning that even if the third year option is taken up then it may not be officially announced.
However, should the form not improve, it is likely that the board will take the option of not triggering the extra year, meaning that the Gunners will be on the search for a new manager during the summer.
Arsenal have now gone five games in all competitions without recording a win, and will be hoping to rectify that when they take on Southampton after the international break.
