Unai Emery reveals which players are in and out of Arsenal's squad for Liverpool clash

Arsenal will head to Anfield with a rotated squad as they prepare to face Liverpool for the second time this season.

In his pre-match press conference, Unai Emery confirmed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Calum Chambers and David Luiz will not travel.

Granit Xhaka will not make the trip to Anfield either following his antics against Crystal Palace.

"He trained normally with the group but he is devastated," Emery said giving an update on Xhaka.

"He is sad about that situation. His commitment is great every time.

"He wants to help. His behaviour was perfect in training, with the group and club. Really he knows he was wrong."

Mesut Ozil's long-awaited return to the first team may come away at Liverpool as Emery also confirmed that the German will travel.

Ozil, who was in attendance at Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace, has not featured for the club since late September when he captained the side in a 5-0 demolition of Nottingham Forest.

Speaking on the 31-year-old, Emery admitted he could return with the armband.

"It depends, he could be (captain)," the Spaniard admitted.

"That conversation this morning was because I wanted to listen about how he was thinking now to help us tomorrow. It was a very good conversation.

"Tomorrow he is in the group. We need his quality, his skill. We need his consistency. We need his positive mentality. Then we need him to help us on the pitch."
