Unai Emery refuses to answer questions about his Arsenal future amid reports he will be sacked

It is a question that every single Arsenal supporter wants the answer to - will Unai Emery be sacked?

The Spaniard has overseen a poor start to the 2019/20 campaign, with the Gunners winless in their last seven games.

The most recent performance saw them beaten 2-1 at home to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday night, with many Arsenal supporters voting with their feet and not even bothering to go to the stadium to watch the match.

Boos rang out around the Emirates for the second match in a row - the loudest the stadium appeared to be at any point during the contest.

If Emery was under intense pressure before the match, his future his hanging by the thinnest of threads now.

Will Raul Sanllehi, Vinai Venkatesham and Edu wield the axe? Time will tell, but for now, Emery has refused to answer questions about his future.

That was the main topic on the agenda for journalists following the defeat to Frankfurt, but Emery remained tight-lipped.

Here's what was said:

James Benge: It is becoming a matter of when, not if, Emery loses his job

Are you confident you can turn this around?

"Now our moment is not good. We need to win, take confidence and I think we are better than we are showing. The players, the coaches and myself.

"Really, the response from the players in the first half was good and in the second half we started very well. The injuries to Shkodran Mustafi and David Luiz were very important because when you are losing you need some fresh players offensively to give the team more options and we couldn't do that."

Do you fear the worst now?

"I am thinking first to analyse that match and also the Europa League matches. Today we improved things but it wasn't enough."

Do you think you will remain in charge?

"I am thinking about the next match and how we can improve and achieve confidence with the players. They know we are a little down in our feelings but if we continue with our first half performance, that is the way."

Do you feel if you don't get a result on Sunday that your job could be on the line?

"My work and my job is firstly analysing that match, how we are in the Europa League, in our feelings and how we are going to play on Sunday."
