Unai Emery receives triple injury boost for Arsenal's clash with Wolves as Granit Xhaka ruled out

Unai Emery has been boosted by the news that Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock and Sead Kolasinac have all recovered from minor problems and will be available to face Wolves.

The trio sustained knocks during the League Cup defeat against Liverpool on Wednesday night and were seen heavily limping through the mixed zone after the match.

But speaking at his press conference, Emery did not mention any injury problems to the three players, and they are set to be included in the matchday squad.

Emery did confirm, however, that Granit Xhaka will not play on Saturday after the midfielder's altercation with supporters during the Crystal Palace game last weekend.

Some fans cheered his substitution but those cheers swiftly turned to boos as Xhaka decided to stroll off instead of racing off and he responded by cupping his ear towards the fans before taking his shirt and storming straight down the tunnel.

The midfielder also appeared to shout obscenities to the Arsenal fans as he departed and as a result didn't feature in Wednesday night's Carabao Cup loss against Liverpool.

Xhaka did offer an apology to fans for his actions with a lengthy social media post on Thursday, but Emery says the Swiss star will not be in contention for selection.

"He is training," Emery said.

"He didn’t play in Liverpool for me he is continuing, above all [we are] focusing on tomorrow.”

"I said we were waiting on Monday, on the last press conference here on Tuesday.

"The next step is tomorrow the match. The focus is the match. It’s not in my mind he will play tomorrow.

"It’s not in my mind he’s going to play tomorrow. I am thinking tomorrow he’s not going to play."
