Unai Emery makes decision on whether Petr Cech will play in Europa League final

Unai Emery has made it clear Petr Cech will not lose his place in Arsenal's starting XI to face Chelsea in the Europa League final.

Cech has been offered the role of sporting director at Chelsea for when he retires at the end of the season.

The news was announced ahead of Arsenal's final with the Blues in Baku, sparking concerns among fans who suggested a conflict of interest may be at play.

Cech moved to calm nerves, tweeting Gunners fans: "Despite the news today as I had already said to everybody before I'll make decision about my future after the last game. Now my sole focus is to win the Europa League with Arsenal."

While Cech isn't Arsenal's first team keeper he has been playing ahead of Bernd Leno in the Europa League and is set to start the final.

And Emery made clear on Wednesday that despite Chelsea's job offer the Czech will get his chance to represent Arsenal in his final game as a professional.

On the importance of beating the Stamford Bridge club to secure Champions League football next season, Emery added: "We want and we feel this competition as an important competition for us.

"We want to feel a special moment, and this is a special moment. We want to enjoy it, whether it's very far or not for the supporters. The match is the same importance.

"I think it's very special in two ways. One is because it's a derby we are going to play away but we are going to feel the same.

"We need to battle against them. We finished behind them in the Premier League, and last year they were in front of us.

"Our ambition is to reduce the difference with them in all the competitions. Our first possibility, our challenge is in this final."
